Noonday is well known for the “Noonday Onion” which is widely considered one of the sweetest onions available anywhere in the USA. An onion must be grown within a 10-mile radius of Noonday in order to be considered a “Noonday Onion“. Every year, growers compete for the sweetest onion at the Noonday Onion Championship in May. Onions are shipped across the nation to people who have tasted the sweet onions and only want those with the Noonday name.
